The First Thanksgiving
We have read about the first Thanksgiving. The students retold the story based on the books we read. I typed up their retelling and gave them a sentence to illustrate. After retelling, we divided into pairs to illustrate our story. We sequenced our illustrations to create a class book. We built bracelets to help us remember the retelling. Please ask your child to tell you the story. I have included their book in case they need a reminder during their retelling.

Thanksgiving week
Next week will be a two day week. We will be out of school from Wednesday to Friday to celebrate Thanksgiving. On Monday and Tuesday we will be reviewing sight words and teen numbers. We will also be retelling the story of the first Thanksgiving. We will be writing about what we are thankful for this week. We will also be comparing today's Thanksgiving celebration to the first celebration.
A few reminders: Be sure and check your child's folder on Monday, we will be sending home interims. Remember to send in your $3.00 for our Christmas boxed lunch from Zaxby's. A very special thank you to everyone for your Clemson/Carolina Relay for Life donations! We will continue collecting money through Monday. Be sure to return or pay for any outstanding coupon books for our fundraiser. Thanks for supporting our school! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!!

Week 13
Our sight words this week are one, two, & three. We will continue working on teen numbers for the rest of the nine weeks. We are learning about the election process in social studies. We are focusing on writing narratives. Our wonder of the week is how does different kinds of candy dissolve in various liquids.
