What we are learning this week:
Sight words:  dad, mom, love
Letters & sounds:  g, l, p, d
Reading:  rules for reading, such as read right to left, read top to bottom, turn the page to continue reading, spaces separate words, point to each word as you read, pictures match words, we can retell stories
Writing:  writing & labeling maps
Math:  numbers 0-10, making sets
S.S.:  creating & using maps

How can you help at home this week?
Review anything missed on last week's assessment. 
Practice counting objects in sets 0-10, write the corresponding number.
Review all previous sight words, letters, & letter sounds.

Week 5

This week our sight words will be: dad, mom, & love.  We will be focusing on the letters j, e, l, & p.  We will be working on basic reading skills such as where to start and stop reading on a page and tracking print.  We will continue working on map skills in writing and social studies.  In math, we are continuing our study of numbers zero to ten.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow night at Open House.
