Week 20

Our sight words this week will be:  they, said, & went.  We will continue our study of shapes.  We are working on a toy review.  We are continuing our study of winter seasonal changes.

Welcome Back

Welcome back from Christmas break!  It is hard to believe we are almost to the halfway point of our year!  We are spending this week reviewing sight words.  Please review all sight words at home as we will be assessing for report cards soon.  Continue reviewing teen numbers as well.  We have started our new math unit on 2D and 3D shapes.  Look around your home, what shapes can you find?  Can you draw a picture of the shapes you find?  I heard many students say triangles were difficult to draw.  We are also learning about main idea in reading.  After reading your 100 Book Challenge books see if you can identify the main idea.  Sometimes the main idea will be given away by the title, other times you will have to think a little harder.  We are also continuing our study of seasonal changes.  We have went out to explore our adopted tree.  It had really changed! No leaves!  We will be learning more about how the winter season impacts people, plants, and animals.
