Wonder of the week

We are using the website Wonderopolis in class question the world around us.  We begin to look at the world and ask questions about what we see.  Wonderopolis is a great source to support inquiry in the classroom.  We look at their pictures and ask our own questions.  We also read their questions and try to find answers.  I encourage you to explore Wonderopolis with your child.  I will be posting our wonder of the week here for you to discuss and research with your child at home.  You may post your thought, questions, or findings in the comment section.  We will read these from time to time in class and respond as a class.  Thank you for helping your child find answers and help us answer our questions.  This wee our wonder is, "Why does food decay?".  We are performing an experiment in class to see what makes food decay faster, air, salt water, vinegar, or lemon juice?
After five days, we have concluded that salt water and lemon juice help preserve freshness while air and vinegar cause foods to decay.
